HOW MUCH DOES THE PLAN COST?

The plan costs are determined by your total trip cost. you can insure your trip up to a total of $10,000. The plan cost is exactly 5% of your total trip cost. Simple and easy! For 5% of your trip costs, you are insured should anything happen before or during your trip according to the coverage highlights and benefit schedule.

COVERAGE HIGHLIGHTS

TRIP CANCELLATION

We will reimburse you, up to the maximum benefit shown on the confirmation, for the cost of your airline ticket, the reissue fee charged by the airline for the tickets or your non-refundable airfare cancellation charges for flights joining or departing your Land/Sea Arrangements if cancellation occurs before your scheduled departure date due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, injury, death, Strike, Terrorist Attack, security breach at the airport or weather.

TRIP INTERRUPTION

We will reimburse you, up to the maximum benefit shown on the confirmation of coverage if you or your traveling companion, booked to travel with you, are prevented from continuing or resuming your trip due to unforeseen circumstances such as sickness, accidental injury, death, Strike, Terrorist Attack, mandatory evacuation or weather.

TRIP DELAY

We will reimburse you, up to the Plan maximum for additional expenses on a one-time basis, if you are delayed for 6 or more hours, while in route to or from your trip due to a defined hazard such as delay of Common Carrier, traffic accident, weather, lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money, Quarantine, hijacking, unannounced Strike, natural disaster, civil commotion or riot.

BAGGAGE DELAY

We will reimburse you, up to the Plan maximum for the expense of replacing necessary personal effects if your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than 12 hours while on Your trip.

BAGGAGE/PERSONAL EFFECTS

We will reimburse you, up to the Plan maximum for the loss, theft or damage to baggage and personal effects while checked with a Common Carrier during your trip.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION & REPATRIATION OF REMAINS

We will pay, up to the Plan maximum any reasonable charges for Emergency Medical Evacuation required by a Physician, for a covered injury or sickness, to the closest adequate medical facility using the most direct and economical conveyance and route possible. All evacuations must be arranged and authorized by the Assistance Company.

AIRLINE TICKET CHANGE FEE

We will reimburse you, up to the Plan maximum for your incurred penalty or change fee should you have to change the dates of your airline ticket due to unforeseen events such as accident, illness or death of you, your family member, traveling companion or business partner.

MISSED CONNECTION

We will reimburse you, up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if you miss your cruise or tour departure, scheduled during your trip, that results from cancellation or delay, for three (3) or more hours, of all regularly scheduled airline flights due to Inclement Weather. Coverage is secondary to any compensation provided by a Common Carrier.

PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITION EXCLUSION WAIVER

The 60 day Pre-Existing Conditions Exclusion found in this Plan is waived if coverage is purchased within 14 days of your initial payment/deposit of your airline ticket, purchase coverage for the full amount of your trip and you are medically able to travel on your effective date.

The following exclusions apply to Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Missed Connection:

Loss caused by or resulting from:

  • Pre-Existing Conditions, as defined in the Definitions section;
  • suicide, attempted suicide or any intentionally self-inflicted injury while sane or insane (unless results in the death of a non-traveling Family Member);
  • intentionally self-inflicted injuries;
  • war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (whether declared or not), civil war;
  • participation in any military maneuver or training exercise;
  • piloting or learning to pilot or acting as a member of the crew of any aircraft;
  • mental or emotional disorders, unless Hospitalized;
  • participation as a professional in athletics;
  • participation in underwater activities (does not include recreational swimming);
  • being under the influence of drugs or intoxicants, unless prescribed and used in accordance with the instructions provided by a Physician, unless results in the death of a non-traveling Family Member;
  • commission or the attempt to commit a dishonest, fraudulent or criminal act;
  • participating in Bodily Contact Sports (football, wrestling, ice hockey, rugby, lacrosse, boxing, full contact karate, hurling and rodeo); skydiving; hang-gliding; Parachuting; Mountaineering; any race; bungee cord jumping; speed contest (speed contest shall not include any of the regatta races;) scuba diving unless accompanied by a dive master or if the depth exceeds fifty (50) feet; or deep sea diving; spelunking or caving; heliskiing; extreme skiing; Extreme Sports;
  • pregnancy and childbirth (except for complications of pregnancy); except if Hospitalized;
  • curtailment or delayed return for other than covered reasons;
  • traveling for the purpose of securing medical treatment;
  • services not shown as covered;
  • directly or indirectly, the actual, alleged or threatened discharge, dispersal, seepage, migration, escape, release or exposure to any hazardous biological, chemical, nuclear radioactive material, gas, matter or contamination;
  • confinement or treatment in a government Hospital; however the United States government may recover or collect benefits under certain conditions.

The following exclusions apply to Baggage Delay:

The Company will not provide benefits for any Loss or damage to:

  • animals;
  • automobiles and automobile equipment;
  • boats or other vehicles or conveyances;
  • trailers;
  • motors;
  • motorcycles;
  • aircraft;
  • bicycles (except when checked as baggage with a Common Carrier);
  • household effects and furnishing;
  • antiques and collector’s items;
  • eye glasses, sunglasses or contact lenses;
  • artificial teeth and dental bridges;
  • hearing aids;
  • artificial limbs and other prosthetic devices;
  • prescribed medications;
  • keys, cash, stamps, securities and documents;
  • tickets;
  • credit cards;
  • professional or occupational equipment or property, whether or not electronic business equipment;
  • personal computers, cell phones, computer hardware or software;
  • sporting equipment if loss or damage results from the use thereof;
  • musical instruments;
  • retainers and orthodontic devices.

Any Loss caused by or resulting from the following is excluded:

  • breakage of brittle or fragile articles;
  • wear and tear or gradual deterioration;
  • insects or vermin;
  • inherent vice or damage while the article is actually being worked upon or processed;
  • confiscation or expropriation by order of any government;
  • war or any act of war whether declared or not;
  • theft or pilferage while left unattended in any vehicle;
  • mysterious disappearance;
  • property illegally acquired, kept, stored or transported;
  • insurrection or rebellion;
  • imprudent action or omission;
  • property shipped as freight or shipped prior to the Scheduled Departure Date.

You may cancel this Policy by giving Trawick International written notice of cancellation on the earlier of: (a) 10 days from the date your policy is purchased; or (b) prior to your scheduled departure date. If you do this, We will refund your premium paid provided you have not filed a claim under this Policy.
